Official presentation of the 2021-2022 mak’it fellows

The ceremony of presentation of the eight 2021-2022 international researchers hosted for 3 to 10 months by the Montpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions (MAK’IT) within the framework of its‘VISITING SCIENTISTS’and‘FIAS’programmes, took place on 17 February 2022.

In the presence of Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier (UM), Patrick Caron, Director of MAK’IT, Clare Hart, Vice President for International Outreach and European Cooperation of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and Olivier Bouin, Director of the French Network of Institutes for Advanced Study (RFIEA), the eight MAK’IT fellows had the opportunity, via short video portraits, to present their career path, their research project and their expectations, particularly in terms of collaboration with their host research unit.s and the Montpellier’s  scientific community more generally.

The ceremony was also the opportunity for two former fellows, Gabriela Litre (University of Brasilia, Brazil) and Roel Plant (University of Technology Sydney, Australia) to provide feedback on their experience with MAK’IT and advice to future candidates.

The International Conference‘What roles for science in crisis times? Outlook in the health, environment and agriculture interconnected areas’that MAK’IT, in collaboration with the South Centre, organises on 7 April 2022 in Montpellier, was also presented.
