Iuri Peri

Iuri Peri is Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania. With over twenty years of experience, his research focuses on the governance of agri-food systems, sustainability transitions, and the evaluation of European agricultural and rural development policies.

As an agricultural economist, his work integrates institutional analysis and stakeholder engagement to support evidence-based decision-making. He adopts a strong multi-disciplinary and participatory approach, utilizing tools such as action research and living labs to address the role of information asymmetries in shaping collective action and policy outcomes across Mediterranean contexts. Throughout his career, he has led international research projects in collaboration with networks such as CIHEAM and Academic entities, contributing to capacity-building and territorial development.

During his MAK’IT fellowship, in collaboration with the LAMES laboratory in Montpellier, he will explore the institutional dynamics and governance mechanisms of Mediterranean agri-food systems. His research will focus on policy coordination and stakeholder interactions to enhance the resilience and inclusive governance of territorial value chains.
