{"id":1134,"date":"2019-03-08T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T09:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/makit.edu.umontpellier.fr\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2024-02-27T15:41:21","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T14:41:21","slug":"makit-muse-advanced-knowledge-institute-officially-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/makit.edu.umontpellier.fr\/fr\/2019\/03\/08\/makit-muse-advanced-knowledge-institute-officially-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"MAK\u2019IT: MUSE advanced knowledge institute officially launched&nbsp;!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Thursday, March 7, 2019, Philippe Aug\u00e9 (President, University of Montpellier), Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Vidal (Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, France), and Abdoulaye Y\u00e9ro Bald\u00e9 (Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Republic of Guinea), officially launched the University of Montpellier\u2019s \u201cMontpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions\u201d (MAK\u2019IT), created as part of the MUSE I-SITE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A space for developing new collective intelligence on action towards sustainable development, by mobilizing scientific communities, MAK\u2019IT seeks to analyze, assist, and accelerate the health, environmental, agricultural, and food transitions required to achieve sustainable development objectives. A real-world laboratory for change, the Institute is committed to making sure that the conclusions of its work are useful for future generations and stimulate their engagement to support sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Created as part of the Montpellier University of Excellence I-SITE, MAK\u2019IT will thus help deploy the international strategic ambition of University of Montpellier and its 18 partners by building an international university recognized for its impact on the major societal challenges: Feed \u2013 Protect \u2013 Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The various actions to be implemented were presented on the day of the launch, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Welcoming world-renowned researchers and stakeholders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizing events with an international scope in Montpellier<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helping to refresh educational programs related to the three pillars: Feed, Protect, Care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elaborating and coordinating international initiatives related to sustainable development objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discussions focused mainly on the issue of transitions towards sustainable development and the expected impact in that new space.
