COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy: the experience of cameroon
Mahama TawatMAK’IT 2020-2021 Fellow, is pleased to invite you to the seminar:
COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy: the experience of Cameroon
The current health crisis raises questions about the practice of vaccination, whose acceptance, which was widespread in the 20th century, seems to be increasingly cracking. A medical-scientific fact originally, vaccination has become a sociological fact.
Among the factors fuelling vaccine ‘hesitancy’ (delay in acceptance or refusal), ‘Fake News’, which contest the scientific facts, are now considered as its main vector.
Dr. Mahama Tawat, researcher in Comparative public policy, hosted by the University of Montpellier in the framework of the Montpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions (MAK’IT) project, will present the results of his study of the Cameroonian context.
From a North-South, South-North perspective, we will discuss the causes and consequences of this vaccine hesitancy in their similarities, but also their differences.
