Transition, Research and Commitment: The Journey of Laura Michel, Director of MAK’IT

Since 2025, Laura Michel has been leading MAK’IT, Montpellier’s Institute for Advanced Studies, where she places the social sciences and humanities at the heart of research on public policies for transition. A specialist in the environmentalization of industrial and territorial policies, she also heads the Key Initiative on Public Policies for Transition (KIPPT), which brings together Montpellier’s research community around major environmental and societal challenges.
