Silvia Giordani is full Professor Chair of Nanomaterials at the School of Chemical Sciences at Dublin City University (DCU) where she acted as Head of School from 2020 to 2023. She is the recipient of many awards, including the L’Oréal UK & Ireland Fellowship For Women in Science and the Leonardo-UGIS Award for a young researcher/communicator in 2012.
In the last twenty years she has accumulated extensive science communication experience. In addition to conferences she talked at wide audience events, women in science workshops, students outreach events etc.
Silvia Giordani will share her personal journey, breaking barriers and promoting diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM).
