Javier Alvarez-Galvez
Dr Javier Alvarez-Galvez is a social research methodologist (PhD, Complutense University of Madrid, 2011) working in the intersection of health and social sciences. He is currently working at the Department of Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Public Health at the University of Cadiz (Spain) as Ramon & Cajal Senior Research Fellow – one the most prestigious research grants in the Spanish University System -, and researching in the Institute of Research and Innovation in Biomedical Research of Cadiz (Spain).
Dr Alvarez-Galvez is the head of the recently created CS2 DataLab linked to the University Research Institute on Social Sustainable Development (INDESS) at the University of Cadiz (Spain). He has also been working as Senior Research Associate in the Department of Applied Health Research at University College of London, and as Senior Lecturer in different universities in Spain such as the Complutense University of Madrid, the University of Seville, and Loyola University Andalusia. He has also been visiting scholar at the Mental Health Policy Unit in the University of Sydney (Australia) and in the Iowa State University (USA).
His main research interests are related with quantitative research methods, social/health systems, social determinants of health, and social networks analysis.
