A Policy-Mediated Coase-Ostrom Framework: Developing an Institutional Fragility Index (IFI) for Mediterranean Agri-Food Chains
Speaker: Iuri Peri– Visiting fellow 2026 – 2027

Abstract
Mediterranean food products with protected geographical origins are part of our cultural heritage and local economies, but their production chains face growing challenges such as climate change, market uncertainty and difficulties in working together.
This project explores how better cooperation, rules and decision-making can help these food systems become more resilient. By bringing together different perspectives on how organisations and communities coordinate.
The goal is to help farmers, cooperatives, policymakers and other stakeholders work together more effectively and build stronger, more sustainable Mediterranean agri-food chains.
